General Information:
Conference Activities:
In addition to the presentation of scholarly papers, the conference will also feature a
number of local cultural and historical activities. These include a guided tour of the
Dokumentation Obersalzberg and the Bunker system below the award winning
museum, a guided walk on the Obersalzberg, a Bavarian cultural evening and meal, a
boat trip on the Königssee, and a visit to the Kehlsteinhaus (Eagles Nest).
Costs:
The conference fee is either £50 or 70€ (£40 or 55€ for members of the Society for
Military History and/or the Obersalzberg Institute). Complete details on registration,
accommodation bookings and payment of the Conference Registration will be
published in the Spring once the Conference Programme has been finalised.
Travel to Berchtesgaden/Obersalzberg:
By Plane: Salzburg (approx. 20 km) and Munich (approx. 180 km) from
Berchtesgaden. Rail transfer is available from both cities – from Salzburg on
Osterreichische (Austrian) Bundesbahen and from Munich on Deutsche Bahn. Hire
cars are available at both the Munich and Salzburg airports.
